Ask Ash
*Unprepared and shocked, Jolteon fell along with Pikachu off the bench. She landed on her back side and bumped her head on the concrete. It did not hurt too much, though her head rang as if she were whacked by a pan. Not thinking it was an accident, she sneered at the rodent and asked why he pushed her off. She licked her own dirty paws and waited for an answer. With an apologetic look, Umiko said to the electric pokemon* sorry about that. I’ll groom you when we get home.
That’s fine, it was an accident *she agreed and sighed. She thought it was strange for a Student Trainer to come up and talk to her like this. It was rare and only happened at the faculty. Most Student Trainers were busy training their pokemon or studying at the library. Staring blankly at the park across them, the Academy Leader listened to what Ash had to say. It was touching, but not too much. Being friends with a young boy was strange. At first she did not understand what BA meant, but realized it was short for “Battle Academy.”* You were travelling and wanted to work at the faculty of course I gave you a place to stay. That’s what the Battle Academy’s for. We accept any type of trainer until all spots are full or when someone leaves.
*Actually only Student Trainers were allowed to have dorms because of those reasons. Academy Leaders and other workers took the sea buses or flew home. After Ash finished his last few sentences, Umiko’s lavender eyes widened slightly but shrunk again. There was a short silence between them. Was Ash really that grateful?* I see, so you think you owe me back. The truth is you shouldn’t go through that much trouble. I did what I had to do. You deserved a break. I mean you’ve been to lots of places and met friends along the way. You should be grateful to have a decent childhood. If you don’t mind me asking why didn’t you go back to Pallet Town? I’m sure your mom misses you.
The Pikachu tried to tell Hinata that he was pushed off by accident by Umiko. Ash began to get worried after he heard what Umiko had asked him, he would have to choose his words carefully, “I look after my friends, that’s why I came after you and I err don’t see my mother as much as I used to.”*Ignoring her trainer’s offer, she quietly growled at Pikachu and stopped when he convinced her everything was an accident. Jolteon was a little vain, which was why she did not like getting her fur dirty. Even after battle she needed a good bath. Deciding to forgive the rodent, Hinata sighed and smiled faintly. She said something along the lines of “Okay I believe you, as long as you’re not lying.”*
*Surprised, the female trainer raised an eyebrow. Perhaps they were friends, but Umiko was unsure. They did not talk much and had different interests besides battling and pokemon* friends? You and me?
*Wanting to know the reason yet feeling bad about asking, she questioned him* how come? Don’t you miss her?
The Pikachu said that he wasn’t lying jumped back on the bench telling Hinata to follow.
“Sure we aren’t aren’t close friends but I kinda count you as a friend.” The boy looked away. “I guess I kinda miss her”

Ash began to get worried after he heard what Umiko had asked him, he would have to choose his words carefully, “I look after my friends, that’s why I came after you and I err don’t see my mother as much as I used to.”*Hinata stared at Pikachu for a moment and seemed to be examining how strong the rodent was. In a playful manner, she gestured the electric mouse to come up and sit on the bench with her. Jolteon was bored of the conversation between their trainers. She understood but was not excited. Umiko’s gloomy self was less horrible than her over-protective and prideful side.*
*Umiko felt her stomach turn upside down. She felt like Ash was not doing his part, but found out he was worried. Of course she did say they were allowed to express emotions no matter which location. At the Battle Academy, some were not so nice, though it was only because of certain reasons. They were not evil really. Thinking that she needed to talk to someone and that there was no choice, she eyed the boy and slowly sat up so her backside leaned against the bench. To allow Ash to sit down, she slid over and patted a hand on an empty spot next to her* why were you so worried about me? It’s not like we’re close friends or anything.
Pikachu jumped up happily only to be bumped by Umiko as she slid across the bench to let Ash sit down, he flew into Hinata and knocked the two off the bench, Ash smiled, “haha, we’re equal now Pikachu.” He was still smiling when he sat next to Umiko, “Thanks for that sorry that Hinata had to get in the way.” He was obviously trying to stall, he never liked opening up to people but realized that he’d have to say anyway. “Before you disappeared you weren’t looking that well and when you did disappear I became worried for a number of reasons. The main reason is that by accepting me into the BA, you gave me a place to live in, a home, something I haven’t had since I was eleven.” He looked down. “You gave me hospitality and I felt like I owe you back, so when you disappeared I immediately went to look for you and look where I am now.” He felt both relived to let it all out and awkward.*Unprepared and shocked, Jolteon fell along with Pikachu off the bench. She was a little grumpy and did not want Ash involved. He probably wanted to battle her like she promised. Though now was not the best time* I was sick okay? Can’t say anything else. It’s personal business.
*There was a pause* how’s the Battle Academy? Got any new challengers? They’re probably wondering why I’m not there….
Ash heard the tone that Umiko took but didn’t flinch, “Fair enough” His Pikachu was cured of his laughing fit, looked back up at the Jolteon with couriosity. “I wouldn’t know how the Battle Academy is or if there are any challengers because I’ve been looking for you, I’ve been worried sick, you didn’t look to good before you disappeared and when you did disappear I began looking for you, took me ages and now here I am,” He was never this open with people and he was beginning to feel awkward.*Hinata stared at Pikachu for a moment and seemed to be examining how strong the rodent was. She had seen him around the Battle Academy but never got the time to learn about his battle style or personality. He seemed friendly. Pikachu looked pretty strong as well.
*Jolteon nudged her nose against her trainer’s shoulder but she did not budge.*
Leave me alone Hinata. I’m having a bad day *a muffled voice came from Umiko. She did not seem to hear Ash calling for her name and wanted to be alone. As the electric-type was about to use Thunderbolt on her master, she was stopped.* And don’t even think about it. *Disappointed, the Lightning pokemon sighed and eyed the boy and his partner.*
The boy raised an eyebrow at the sight of this and looked at his Pikachu, “reminds me off someone, especially when I’m sleeping, now who could that be?” The boy looked back at Umiko, “I think we should come back later, Pikachu, she doesn’t look like she wants to be talked to.” He turned to leave and his Pikachu who was standing by his side the whole time, turned around but didn’t move, but used thunderbolt on the young trainer, “Aurrrgghhh!” When the Pikachu finished the move, Ash turned around, “You couldn’t resist that, could you?” His Pikachu just laughed at him, “Shaddup.”*Jolteon smirked at Pikachu shocking its’ trainer and thought it was a funny sight. Upon hearing Ash scream, the blue-haired female slowly turned her head but did not sit up. She was still bent over as if she had a bad stomache* Ash is that you? I heard your Pikachu.

Anonymous asked: Hi Ash!! How are you doing? Do you still visit Oak?
I’m good thanks, and it depends which Oak you are talking about.

People were strolling around and minding their own business. In the amusement park, they were enjoying themselves, the rides, and cotton candy. Some trainers were seen coming out of Gear Station and appeared to have returned from the Battle Subway…
The boy had just walked out the Gear Station with his Pikachu. Anyone who glanced at the two would instantly know that they were looking for someone or something, “No luck there either, Pikachu.” The Pikachu suddenly pointed his paw at Umiko and cried out. “Great, thanks buddy,” Ash started walking towards Umiko but stopped when he got closer.
Something’s not right here, she hasn’t been at the Academy for ages and now she looks like she’s crying, both are as opposite as Umiko can get. “I have to see what’s going on,” the two started walking again.
When they were 10 meters away from Umiko, Ash slowed down again but he didn’t stop, “Umiko?”
